Wenger expecting tough battle

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted he could name a strong line-up as he prepares for a tough FA Cup clash against Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners will travel to the City Ground on Sunday as they prepare to take on the Championship side in the third round. Wenger’s squad are still recovering after an intense few weeks in the top flight. The Frenchman admits he will make some changes but has hinted that a strong XI could take to the field this weekend. Striker Olivier Giroud and midfielder Aaron Ramsey remain out with hamstring injuries while Granit Xhaka will also miss out due to a groin problem. Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal both have ankle issues, with Wenger urging his team to fight hard for their spot in the fourth round. He told reporters: “I will rotate a little bit because we come out of a very high loaded period. “We played three big games in six days, twice away, a big game at home, and we have to keep our level of focus and urgency, because the third round is always very difficult, especially when you play away from home against a Championship team. “And we play on Wednesday again so I have to rotate a little bit. “The Championship teams are ready to face, for them, a big challenge and you have to maintain your concentration, coming out of a congested period over Christmas and that’s never easy.” Arsenal are the heavy favourites to beat Forest and you can back them to defend their crown and go all the way in the competition with your free bet.
